Associate Vice President of Equity and Inclusion
Dr. Eda Watts
Dr. Eda Watts serves as Associate Vice President of Equity and Inclusion at North Hennepin Community College
She holds a doctorate of education in leadership, a master of science in higher education administration, and a bachelor of arts in broadcast communications. At North Hennepin Community College she serves as the President’s primary advisor and is responsible for providing strategic leadership that promotes diversity and the equitable success of underrepresented students. She is a Certified Diversity and Social Justice Trainer, Certified Adult Education Program Planner, and holds a number of professional certificates including a Certificate in Inclusive Teaching from Harvard University's Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning. She has served faculty through reaching leadership and teamwork, and has also designed and taught a Social Justice Leadership curriculum. Dr. Watts is a recipient of the IMPACT award for going "above and beyond her role to improve campus life" through her diversity initiatives. Dr. Watts has worked in higher education for the last 11 years, and prior to education she served in the private sector.

Alberto joined NHCC as a new Diversity and Equity Success Specialist in June of 2020. He graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Travel and Tourism and Communication Studies. Prior to NHCC, Alberto worked with college students abroad and in the United States for nearly six years. He also has experience in marketing. He is currently working towards a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language
