Is Line 3 another North Dakota access pipeline?

Hello everyone, this blog post is about a pipeline that starts in Alberta, Canada, and ends in Superior, Wisconsin. This pipeline goes directly through Minnesota and will send roughly 760,000 barrels of tar sand per day through our state. Oil companies use tar sand to make gasoline, but it uses up to 3 times the amount of water to make compared to conventional oil. Also, most of the water used becomes filled with toxic substances, and it is detrimental to the health of people, plants, and animals. Enbridge is the company that started this operation, and they are responsible for the largest inland oil spill in the US; specifically, the existing line 3 had this oil spill close to Grand Rapids, MN, in 1991. Why is this important?

Simply put, this pipeline poses a threat to our freshwater lakes, plants, animals, and for some, a way of living. The Anishinaabe's territory in northern Minnesota is where this line plans to run through and wetlands that provide shelter and life to many plants and animals. We need to respect and preserve the land that we inhabit, and allowing Enbridge to build this pipeline is doing injustice to our home.

If you want to help stop the damaging effects this will have on our state and the communities, go to this link and send a message to Joe Biden asking him to Stop Line 3!
